Taking the Extra Step for a Customer
Customer service is very important in order to keep a thriving business. However on several occasions the people from Wal Mart have wronged me. There was an occasion where I was yelled at for passing through an isle where maintenance was trying to clean. Me passing through the isle wasn't a big deal. Maintenance shouldn't of freaked out like they did. On another occasion my partner and I were trying to pay for our groceries. We approach an open register, the cashiers head was down. We placed our groceries down, he gave us a "ARE YOU SERIOUS" look. Then constantly rolled his eyes throughout the transaction. His behavior was strange. I believe yelling at customers, and not acknowledging them is rude. The cashier could of greeted us, ringed us up, and told us the total amount. That's all I expect, just the basics.

First World Problems
The choices I make will hopefully have me living a balanced life so I can reach out. I always do think about the third world problems my relatives could be facing, such as danger, lack of schooling, lack of shoes and clothing and lack of health care. My goal is to ease the problems.
I am glad to be alive and well. I live a simple life so I'm not high maintenance. I would hope that other people would un-program themselves and stop thinking that they need the latest electronics and fashion. There is definetly more in life to accomplish.
The second video "The miniature earth" was interesting, a lot of different races and cultures etc, were mention into one world. But what stood out to me the most was that I am potentially "75%" richer than the population. Because I had a roof over my head and a bed to sleep in with drawers. That quote makes me feel better. I wish others had the same, because really everyone needs shelter and clothing. The theme music in the video was creepy though. The video producers should have picked a better inspiring tune.

Thinking Bigger In Life
Receiving a pep talk from Kid President was quite inspiring. His video was very artistic and his speech was powerful. He is right adults are boring. I find myself guilty of that. I am talented, but I don't place emphasis on my talents. Instead I choose to do what life requires of me, and that's it. I eat, sleep, study, communicate, and transport myself. I'm just getting by, but I need to be doing what I want to do. I like to draw, decorate, and knit. These activities make time pass by fast and have a meaning to me. Who knows, maybe my art can make a difference. I also like to write, maybe I should look into blogging. I'm interested in controversial subjects. I would feel great by knowing my work is being read by others. Life is valuable, the possibilities are endless. I need to take advantage of life, and start expressing myself. The outlook I have on life is definitely changing already. I'm becoming interested in traveling and enjoying myself.
I have to believe in myself and think about how everything is possible. Thinking ahead of the road scares me a lot. So I'll just live day by day. I do believe I can make a difference, specially in the teaching career field.
I don't want to be bored of myself. I have to spice things up. I definitely want to accomplish more in my life, and broaden my goals.

Public Presentations
Speaking in public makes me nervous. I feel a lot better when I know my audience. But, that's not always the case. When it comes to preparing a presentation, I usually write it all out. This technique helps me remember most of my speech. I always remember most of what I wrote on my rough draft. I always tend to feel at ease when presenting. But, I have to admit there are certain mistakes I make. I lack practice, I only practice once. Marc Corsini's video, "Top Ten presentation Mistakes" caught my attention. The most shocking statement was when he said "50% of presentation mistakes are made before..." I began to wonder how many mistakes I make.
The most important tip I learned is the Three T tip. Which is tell them what you're going to tell them, tell them, and tell them what you told them. This tip can be very successful because people will most likely remember when it's repeated. I will definitely use this tip when doing persuasive presentations.
I was really impressed by the other video "Make a Presentation like Steve Jobs". Steve Jobs is so clear and catchy. Everything he says is not sugar coated. It's not cliche' like other presentations. He says everything he needs to say. I want to present like Steve Jobs.
I have noticed I am a big offender of the MONOTONE. I really need to work on my enthusiasm. I tend to lecture while I'm speaking. This affects my presentation. I might not be as memorable as I can be. I will try to improve my presentation skills with the tips I learned in the videos.
