According to The Free Dictionary, an affirmation is something declared to be true; a positive statement or judgment.Affirmations can impact a persons life in positive and negative ways. For example, if a teacher tells a student they have what it takes to attend college the student can feel more confident, and will apply to Universities. Unfortunately many people fall victims to negative false affirmations, such as "your dumb, and wont amount to anything in life." People often make the mistake of believing the false judgement, and they don't achieve their goals. I really enjoy having my own positive affirmations of myself. I declare myself to be strong, resilient, an achiever, and a compassionate person. The positive affirmations are my foundation, they allow me to pull my own weight and be strong to help others. In order to help and give advice I have to believe in myself first. When people make false negative affirmations about me, I find myself questioning if it's true. The right thing to do is to overcome the false expectations. Having positive affirmations is the key to success. I need to build more positive affirmations regarding my career success. My fear is not graduating college because of the lack of resources. I need to ensure myself that I can do this and tackle college.
